Apple TV+ has released an official trailer for the Surfside Girls, the coming-of-age adventure series that follows two best friends as they embark on a treasure hunting journey along with a ghost of a pirate boy. It will be available for streaming on August 19.
Surfside Girls is based on the bestselling IDW graphic novel series of the same name by author Kim Dwinell. It is being led by Miya Cech (Rim of the World), YaYa Gosselin (We Can be Heroes), and Spencer Hermes-Rebello (Troppo).
“The live-action series follows best friends Sam and Jade as they solve supernatural mysteries in their sleepy California beach town,” reads the synopsis. “These best friends must combine their polar opposite strengths of imagination and logic in order to solve the supernatural mysteries that hide just beneath the surface of their town.”
Surfside Girls is written and executive produced by showrunner May Chan, who co-developed the project with fellow writers and executive producers Alex Diaz and Julie Sagalowsky Diaz. Executive producers are Paul Stupin, American Young, Lydia Antonini, Paul Davidson, and Jeff Brustrom.
